COBHAM BELL TOWER

The bothery in Chobham had unfortunately become very unsafe due to the significant lack of maintenance over many years. Originally constructed in the 1780s, it had suffered considerably from extreme weather erosion that had taken its toll on the structure. We were instructed to conduct a detailed survey and produce a comprehensive report on the structure in order to ascertain the specific work needed to make the tower safe once again. We erected scaffolding to secure the structure effectively, and then proceeded to repair and replace various sections and panels that required urgent replacement. Every component we needed was meticulously crafted onsite, ensuring that the fit was accurate and seamless. All the balustrades were carefully made and refitted, including the intricate leadwork, which meant the tower was now effectively watertight. In addition, we treated all the water-damaged timber and then proceeded to paint the completed tower, restoring its former glory.
